To broaden global power system expertise, Rene Kerkmeester was invited by Electra (CIGRE’s digital magazine) to write about the role of Equigy in a changing energy world.

As the modern electricity supply now increasingly operates on renewable energy sources, there is a need for new sources of flexibility to balance the grid. Traditional power plants, historically used by TSOs to balance the electricity system, are now progressively reducing their contribution to the generation and flexibility mix.
